Heaven in a tin, on your toast

I have never eaten baked beans are good as the ones pictured on the right. As far as I know, they’re only available in New Zealand.

Can somebody please tell me if these are available in Australia?

If not, I’m going to be forced to take back a crate load when I eventually move back.

These babies are simply the greatest baked beans known to man. Seriously, you will never buy another type again.

Free tip though: steer clear of all the other ones from the same range, especially the Indian ones. They are some sort of unholy combination. I mean, beans have enough fibre as it is, there’s no need to turbo charge them.

Oysters, in the raw.

As spotted in a New World supermarket by a reader: a special on bluff oysters.

Buff as in fit? Or as in, like, nude?

Shelled, maybe? I’ve no idea, but let me tell you, I’m intrigued.

Anyway, it could be worse. If this was my local New World it would have been “BUFF OYSTER’S”.

(Free fact: I almost bought some baby carrots in the supermarket this arvo. Until I saw they were $17.90 a kilo (!!!) Give me these naturist oysters any day.)

Also in NZ today, sheep go nuts at the “running of the sheep” in Te Kuiti and injure a spectator. I’m not making this stuff up.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend folks.

Timaru Mice Pies

As presented by Dave Letterman.

It’s a case of mistaken signage, I’m pretty sure.

Having sampled quite a few smallgoods/mystery parcel meats made in NZ though, can’t hurt to be careful :)
