Is that not true then. I’ve heard so many things about new Zealand. Good and bad. I teach in England and have considered moving there. Some people have put me off. I earn £36,000 here as a maths teacher and have a very comfortable life. What would it be like over there?
Hi Phil,
it all depends what you call comfortable. Despite all the various comments re high cost of living, low wages etc; it depends what you want out of life, who you work for, your position, and where you shop! I have some good older friends (in their mid 50s) who have just emigrated from the UK to Taranaki, NZ and one of them is a teacher. He would be the best qualified to give you a realistic overview. If you would like me to put you in touch with them pls drop me an email at wayne.p.robinson@gmail.com – hope I can help.
So Grant, in your own world, you see holders of PhD, software engineers, and other similarly skilled professionals as people with low IQ?
I suppose you deem yourself as being even more skilled that the above mentioned?
Or is it that you’re plainly suffering from an advanced case of inferiority complex? In any case, here’s a tip: these skilled professionals are mainly the ones who keep a country’s economy in one piece, so to speak.
As for having educated people leave NZ for Australia, is only tipping the scale in Australia’s favour.
Sad to say unlike the former MP who said the infamous IQ joke, I can only hope you see more in life than the tip of your nose.

Excuse me, I do believe you genuinely forgot to mention the high cost of living and the low wages. Funny video though!
