I note that these “Conchords” guys are from Wellington, the butt of all weather-related jokes in NZ (apologies to Dunedin).

I love the Irony of the post. Here is a site “fush n chups” having a tounge and cheek view on New Zealand, of which some people mistakenly took offence – to which “fush and chips” profusely defended “himself”.
Now we all know the Conchords are a bunch of, COMICS and their humour is also tounge in cheek. How can this site take offence and say that the comments do nothing to help the relationship between the two countries. Basically the pot calling the kettle black.

Jeez I’ve slept with a Tasmanian chick and survived the experience .. best root of my life and should be memorable but I’ve forgotten her name. Shame on me and T-T relations, was just a Kiwi not ex-Kiwi at the time mind you.
Mentioned as well in Sulphur City blog, but should be here really to check out the Flight of the Conchords other vids on YouTube, Foux da Fa Fa (3rd form French fun) and wait for it … the Hobbit/LOTR parody, really the best of the best.
Kiwi talent of any kind leaves NZ and should do, the place is too small, jeez Aussie talent leaves OZ too! Adelaide people leave and don’t go back except for occasional holidays, ditto Tasmanians and stacks of rural Aussies (and Kiwis) to Sydney, Melbourne , maybe Brisbane and Perth too. I should know, we find communality as Sydneysiders from the smaller place. My SA, Tas and WA friends have got me interested in AFL, we have bbqs and guess what we are nearly all non-Sydney in or ex-pats. So yep thats it .. those quirky places …. and by the way Tassie diving is pretty damned out there too. Small places, funny things and lets not forget that word … yep QUIRKY

Now the shoe is on the other foot, the bloggers have cleverly made a comeback slap on the idgits who can’t take a joke about it and sure enough, they get a rise. Also, wellington weather isnt as bad as everyone makes it out to be, a few years back it had the most sunshine hours out of any new zealand urban area! yes its a bit windy but that just builds charcter, its a good way to train our pilots! :D Besides it was voted new zealands favourite city!
